The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts is a specialist university-level provider of learning for performers and those who make performance possible.
We offer courses in Acting, Dance, Applied Theatre & Community Drama, Costume Making, Creative Technologies and Performance (Filmmaking, TV and Emerging Technology), Music, Sound Technology, Theatre & Performance Design and Theatre & Performance Technology.
We train students for a future of sustained work and our project and production-based teaching is awarded Gold by the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF). Over the most recent four-year period, 89% of our graduates are in work three years after leaving, 78% of those in the performing arts industry.
Our students are the heart of a creative community where you are free to grow, experiment and succeed. Collaboration is key; students from our making performance possible courses, including Theatre & Performance Design and Technology, Creative Technologies & Performance, Costume Making and Sound Technology, work with our performance students on public performances and independent projects. We understand that, as well as performers, a production needs sound, design, lighting, props and costume to tell a story and we ensure that our making performance possible graduates are equipped with the skill-set to do just that.
