ALRA (The Academy of Live and Recorded Arts) is one of the world’s leading drama conservatoires and a member of the FDS (Federation of Drama Schools). ALRA graduates are highly respected within the industry as hard-working, fully prepared professionals and many of our alumni have gone on to secure credits in film, TV and theatre in the West End, Broadway and on tour.
In recent years, ALRA students have won the BBC Carleton Hobbs Radio Prize, the Spotlight Prize and, with an Outstanding Ofsted rating and TEF Silver status, there’s never been a better time to train at ALRA. We have two campuses, so you have two locations to choose from – either London or Greater Manchester – and with identical training offered at both, our students have an opportunity to meet industry professionals in both cities regardless of where they study. As well as acting courses, we offer an MA in Directing; an innovative new programme including an international residency and individual industry mentors. The application system, which opens in October, is online and takes less than five minutes to complete, and you’ll find lots of advice and information on our website.
