For 38 years the Pleasance Theatre Trust has been discovering and nurturing the very best at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. As a not-for- profit charity, our mission is to provide a compelling range of opportunities to help launch careers, both on and off the stage. Giving these opportunities are more important now than ever before.

During the 2022 Fringe, we presented a programme of over 5,500 performances and 260 productions – enjoyed by over 450,000 people. We will return to Edinburgh in August 2023, stronger than ever – with your help.

Our Fringe operation is powered by the Pleasance Festival Volunteer Programme, which provides an opportunity for people of all backgrounds and ages to hone their skills in the creative industries. Over 200 volunteers join us and play an important part in the daily operation of the Pleasance’s 23 Fringe venues, each at the centre of the largest arts festival in the world.

Our voluntary team includes those of all levels of experience, from individuals with years of industry knowledge to relative newcomers who exhibit the right attitude and want to take part. Their passion and drive are what gives the venue its unique energy, and we look to create an environment where every volunteer feels engaged, valued and inspired.
