Founded by Laurence Olivier in 1946, Bristol Old Vic Theatre School is recognised as one of the country’s leading Conservatoire Drama Schools, training students in a professional environment for careers in the arts and entertainment industry.

Operating on three specialist teaching sites and performing in the major producing theatre venues in Bristol, Bristol Old Vic Theatre School students are trained to the highest standards for direct entry into work in theatre, film and radio drama.

The School has a long history of producing nationally and globally recognised actors and creative and technical theatre graduates. With strong links with all aspects of the arts and entertainment industry across the UK and beyond, Bristol Old Vic Theatre School graduates have an outstanding graduate employment record and the School has a strong reputation as a centre of excellence.

We offer undergraduate courses in Acting, Costume and Production Arts (covering stage management, lighting and electrics, sound, scenic crafts and film/TV production). We offer postgraduate Master’s courses in Theatre Design, Scenic Art, Writing, Directing, Film Production and Voice Studies. We additionally offer a range of short courses, which includes a summer foundation programme in Acting.
