Get Into Theatre’s charitable mission is to support young people from all backgrounds to access and progress in theatre careers.
We open clear and inclusive pathways into theatre — from the first spark of career interest to nurturing progression. We combine industry-led masterclasses with free digital resources and open access opportunities for all, to ensure the next generation of diverse creatives have the tools, knowledge and access they need to get into theatre and thrive.
We are the nation’s trusted theatre career and access diversity specialists, joining the dots between industry and education, while supporting the theatre industry to diversify and strengthen its workforce.

Charles Shenton
Project Manager
Charles is the Events Producer for Get Into Theatre, working across all three programmes: Get Into Theatre, Masterclass and TheatreCraft. He is the lead project manager for TheatreCraft events. Charles is passionate about the performance industry and events, and previously worked at Lighthouse, one of the largest arts centres outside of London, delivering programmes for young people, schools and emerging creatives. In his spare time, he enjoys attending gigs, festivals, exhibitions and shows.
Hannah Duncan
Marketing Manager
Hannah is the Marketing Manager for Get Into Theatre, working across all three programmes: Get Into Theatre, Masterclass and TheatreCraft. She has a wealth of experience in event programming, marketing and social media, and is passionate about inspiring the next generation to explore careers in theatre and the wider creative industries. Alongside her role, Hannah is also a Dance Science Practitioner, holding an MSc from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music & Dance, and serves as a Trustee of StageBase Productions.
Sarah Waterman
Apprenticeships & Work Experience Manager (Royal Ballet and Opera)
As Apprenticeship Manager at the Royal Ballet and Opera, Sarah brings invaluable insight and commitment to the TheatreCraft Steering Committee. Her behind-the-scenes work is instrumental in shaping the Royal Opera House’s contribution to our annual event. Sarah’s work is essential to the delivery of many of our workshops and tours, making a significant contribution to the program’s success.
Clare Annamalai
Co-CEO (Get Into Theatre)
Clare is the Co-CEO of Get Into Theatre, working across all three programmes: Get Into Theatre, Masterclass and TheatreCraft. She has served as Programme Director of Masterclass for over five years and has played a key role in shaping and delivering its programme, including its long-standing involvement in TheatreCraft. Clare continues to champion opportunities for young people across the sector and also serves as a trustee of Lightbox Theatre and the Thorney Island Society.
Alex Duarte-Davis
Co-CEO (Get Into Theatre)
Alex joined Get Into Theatre as Director in 2023 and now serves as Co-CEO, working across all three programmes: Get Into Theatre, Masterclass and TheatreCraft. She brings extensive experience in arts leadership, creative learning and widening access for young people. Alex has previously held senior outreach roles at Theatre Royal Bath and The Egg Theatre, and has worked as a freelance practitioner, producer and director across the South West. She is a Trustee for Kilter Theatre and Creative Youth Network, and a mentor for Emerge at Bath Spa University. Passionate about making the theatre industry more open and representative, Alex is committed to ensuring every young person can see a place for themselves in the sector—and has the tools, support and opportunities to thrive.
Jayne Gould
Apprenticeships & Work Experience Officer (Royal Ballet and Opera)
As Apprenticeships & Work Experience Officer at the Royal Ballet and Opera, Jayne helps organise both the annual in-person and online TheatreCraft events. As a key member of the Steering Committee, she upholds TheatreCraft’s values of inspiring and educating young people by coordinating engaging workshops and tours at the Royal Opera House. Jayne also oversees the Royal Opera House apprentices, who provide vital support on the day, often leading in-house tours and playing a key role in the get-in and get-out of the event.
