TheatreCraft25 – Parents, Guardians & Essential Carers
About the Event:
TheatreCraft is a FREE annual event for anyone aged 16-30 who is interested in an off-stage career in theatre.
TheatreCraft is run by the Society of London Theatre, UK Theatre, Masterclass and the Royal Ballet and Opera, to provide opportunities and advice to young people interested in joining the UK theatre workforce.
Attendees enjoy a day of workshops, talks, backstage tours, and on-stage demonstrations led by top industry professionals, covering a wide range of roles and career skills.
If you are accompanying your young person:

We have limited capacity in most of our workshops and tours, and naturally, we want to prioritise access for young people. Therefore, parents and guardians will not be allowed to book onto these events unless they are essential carers.

Likewise, the marketplace can become crowded, so we would ask you not to accompany your young person to the marketplace unless you are an essential carer.

There are several cafes within the Royal Opera House, and in the surrounding streets, where you can comfortably wait for your young person.

If you have any questions during the day, you are welcome to come to the Information Desk in the foyer of the Royal Opera House.

If your young person is attending alone:
- The event hub is the Royal Opera House, where the exhibitor marketplace takes place. Take a look at how to get here.
- Workshops, talks, tours and on-stage demonstrations also take place at West End theatres within a 10 – 15 minute walk of the Royal Opera House. These will be clearly signposted on the TheatreCraft website prior to the event, and in the programme that all attendees receive on the day.
- Trained TheatreCraft volunteers will be stationed all over the Royal Opera House and the other West End venues. If your young person has any questions, or needs help, they should ask any volunteers wearing a bright pink t-shirt with TEAM on the back! They can also visit the Information Desk in the foyer of the Royal Opera House.
- TheatreCraft is designed to be fun, engaging and welcoming. Encourage your young person to chat to other attendees and make connections – theatre is an industry built on relationships!

If you are attending as an essential carer:
- Your young person should book their place on workshops and tours as usual. Afterwards, please email info@theatrecraft.org to let us know which sessions they have booked and that they will be bringing an essential carer.
