Frequently Asked Questions 2023

When and where is this year’s TheatreCraft event?

TheatreCraft 2021 will take place on 22 November 2021.

The talks and Q&As will be hosted in the Linbury Theatre at the Royal Opera House, and live streamed to all attendees via the free Whova app. We have limited capacity for attendees to watch live at the Royal Opera House but don’t worry, you won’t be missing out on anything as you watch virtually from the comfort of your own home!

Please note- the only element of TheatreCraft happening in person is the panel talks. The Marketplace and all workshops will be hosted online.  You will be sent a link to access the event once you register your free place at TheatreCraft 2021 on our home page.

How do I sign up to attend?

Click here to register on the website to secure your place on the event. We’ll be in touch closer to the day of the event with information about how to access the event on Whova.

How will the virtual marketplace work this year?

Our marketplace full of organisations, education providers and venues will be hosted entirely on the Whova app, however you will still have the opportunity to speak 1-1 and network with industry professionals.

You will have time throughout the day to visit the booths of your favourite exhibitors, including a designated hour at the beginning of the day before the first talk.

Which theatre organisations will I be able to speak to at the event?

For a full list of everyone exhibiting in the Marketplace, please click here.

What is Whova, and how do I access it?

Whova is an online event-hosting app. We will be streaming all of the day’s sessions through it, as well as using the app to host the marketplace and various networking events throughout the day. You will still have the opportunity to ask questions, meet other attendees, and chat with exhibitors, and it’s completely free for you to download and access.

As long as you have booked a place via the TheatreCraft website, you will be sent a link before the 22nd November that allows you to log in to Whova, access the event and build your profile.

Who is TheatreCraft for?

TheatreCraft is for anyone aged 16 – 30 who is interested in an off-stage career in theatre. You can be at any stage in your career or training, or just be wondering whether a career in theatre is for you.

If you are a parent/guardian or teacher and looking for more information, you might want to check out our list of resources above.

Do I have to pay to attend the event or any of the workshops?

Nope! If you are aged 16 – 30 on the day of the event, it is all completely free.

I have specific access needs, what should I do?

TheatreCraft is open to everyone, and we will do our best to make sure that the day is accessible to everyone who needs it. To speak to someone about any specific access needs or concerns, please contact the event’s project manager at projectmanager@theatrecraft.org.

I would like to list a job/opportunity. How do I do this?

Send your job listings to info@theatrecraft.org.

I need to book a day off school to attend. Do you have any information I can send to my teachers?
