 TheatreCraft is a FREE event which takes place every year. In and around the West End, people aged 16 – 30 can explore:

– A marketplace full of industry professionals, education providers and theatre suppliers
– Practical workshops & talks which cover a vast range of disciplines
– On-stage demonstrations of West End theatre shows
– Backstage tours at the Royal Opera House and neighbouring theatres

TheatreCraft is designed for those aged 16–30 who are exploring off-stage roles. You can be at any stage in your career or training, or just be wondering whether a career in theatre is for you. That’s why our workshops and marketplace are tailored to that age group.

But don’t worry — we haven’t forgotten everyone else! 🎭 We also run a dedicated event for those over 30, aimed at career changers and anyone looking to bring their existing skills into the theatre industry. TheatreCraft Online will take place in February 2026.

 TheatreCraft 2025 will take place on Monday 3 November 2025. 

The Exhibitor Marketplace and most workshops will be hosted at the Royal Opera House in the Paul Hamlyn Hall and Level 5 Bar. You can take a 360 look at the space here. Some workshops and tours are taking place at neighbouring theatres in the West End.

If you are travelling by public transport:

• The nearest underground station is Covent Garden. The nearest stations with step-free access are Leicester Square, Holborn and Tottenham Court Road.
• The nearest mainline train stations are Charing Cross, London Waterloo and London Euston.
• The closest bus stops are Aldwych, Drury Lane and Leicester Square Station.

Please note, there are no on-site parking facilities. There are a limited number of disabled access parking bays in Bow Street and Floral Street.

Remember it will take you a little while to get to and from venues, plan your day considering travel time.

Look for venues listed on sessions, to ensure you have enough time to get from one to the other.

From there, you can head to the exhibitor marketplace, and to your pre-booked tours, workshops and talks. Bag checks will occur at our venues.

The marketplace can become crowded, so we would ask parents not to accompany their young person to the marketplace unless they are an essential carer. There are several cafes within the Royal Opera House, and in the surrounding streets, where they can comfortably wait for their young person. Parents will not be admitted to workshops, talks or tours due to limited capacity.

Essential carers are able to visit the marketplace with their young person. When your young person books their place on workshops, talks and tours they should tick to say that they are bringing an essential carer.
