The countdown has begun to TheatreCraft 2018, the UK’s largest free careers event for young people interested in offstage theatre jobs!

Ahead of the event, we’ve asked our six inspiring theatre makers who front this year’s campaign to give some insights into their chosen careers, the best advice they got when starting out, and why careers events like TheatreCraft are worth attending.

First up in this fortnightly video series is Debbie Hicks, a theatre Producer who has worked on West End, off-West End and touring productions since training as an apprentice with the Stage One initiative for young producers. Watch the video below to find out how Debbie got started in the industry as a teenager, why multitasking is key in her job, and the importance of demystifying theatre careers.

TheatreCraft 2018 will take place on Monday 19 November, 9:30am–4:30pm, at Waldorf Hilton Hotel.

If you’re aged 16-30 and want to explore different theatre jobs behind the curtain, book your free place HERE!
